OUR STORY
We Started This Because We Saw the Need Firsthand
Stephanie Miller and Janelle Magoto didn't set out to start a transportation company — they set out to solve a problem they watched happen every single day. As an Occupational Therapy Assistant and a Physical Therapy Assistant, they spent a combined 30 years in healthcare facilities across Western Ohio, working with patients who needed ongoing care but kept missing appointments because they simply couldn't get there.
In May of 2022, they turned that frustration into action. Hometown Transportation was born — starting with ambulette service for clients who use wheelchairs and those who are ambulatory. As demand grew, so did the mission. By September 2024, they had expanded to include stretcher transport, ensuring that even the most mobility-limited clients could access the healthcare they needed.
Today, Hometown Transportation is a team of 25 dedicated professionals — drivers, EMTs, and paramedics — all sharing the same commitment to compassionate, punctual, and dignified transport for every client they serve.

Hometown Transportation Founded
Launched in Auglaize County, Ohio with ambulette and ambulatory services, driven by a shared vision to fill the gap in NEMT across Western Ohio.

Stephanie has spent 18 years as a licensed Occupational Therapy Assistant, working with patients across nursing homes and rehabilitation facilities throughout Western Ohio. Her deep understanding of her clients' functional needs and daily challenges is what makes Hometown Transportation different — she doesn't just move people from place to place, she understands exactly what's at stake when a ride doesn't show up.

Janelle's clinical eye ensures that every transport protocol at Hometown reflects the highest standards of patient safety and dignity.
